DIGITAL PRINTS
“My digital files are like my [etching] plates. I approach my digital works as a printmaker, looking for the same kinds of textures and reliefs —even if they are only an optical illusion.”
Yolanda del Riego’s digital works are all original artworks that she creates herself directly on a computer, using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. She sometimes starts from a snapshot or a scan of one of her drawings. As she disassembles the images, she adds her own textures and layers, and draws using an optical pen.
YR’s digital files are printed on a variety of supports (paper, aluminum, glass) using different digital printing technologies (pigment inkjet printing, direct-to-substrate UV printing, dye sublimation).
